Villa Maureillas is a delightful, large, airy and bright, detached home with four bedrooms and a huge terrace (plus a self-contained garden flat and a cottage) hidden away in the most southerly part of Mediterranean France on the boarder with Spain. It has a panoramic view of the Pyrenees mountains. The villa is on its own grounds of about 1,000 sq metres.

Villa Maureillas lies at the foothills of the Pyrenees, less than half an hour from fabulous beaches and marinas, a couple of hundred metres from the mountain trails leading up to the GR10 (the trans-Pyrenees trail from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic) and less than two hours' drive to the local ski slopes. The local ski resorts include Font Romeu, Les Angles and Pyrenees 2000. the house is two hours to Barcelona.
Living here you can go sailing on a Saturday and go skiing on Sunday!
This is the Catalan region of France on the Spanish border. It has its own unique atmosphere. Villa Maureillas is less than five minutes from the route through the Pyrenees to Spain and about 15 minutes to the main motorway from France to Barcelona. Barcelona is just two hours away.
Villa Maureillas is tucked away on a hillside and overlooks the village of Maureillas las Illas at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains. The villa enjoys a panoramic view of the peaks which are snow covered six months of the year. .
Perpignan, once the seat of the Majorcan kings, is the nearest city
Perpignan is within a half hour's drive and has all you would expect of a modern, connected city including an airport and a TGV rail station.
The property consists of the house which has a self contained garden flat on the ground floor and a independent cottage. The cottage needs renovation. One could let the flat out as a gîte or use it for a housekeeper or to accommodate visitors. You could do the same with the cottage once restored. The flat and cottage each have an earning potential of between €350 to €500 per week depending of the time of season.
The villa has high speed internet, central heating and a modern "CLEARVIEW" wood burning stove in the living room.
Situated in a small town, Villa Maureillas is well tucked away on a hillside so enjoys privacy while at the same time affording access to the local shops, pubs and restaurants which are all within walking distance. The villa has a huge, sundrenched terrace facing west. The terrace is the "outdoor living room" of the house where you can enjoy fabulous sunsets whilst entertaining friends and family.
